On this page

Grid view

The Grid view displays a thumbnail of each asset and as many metadata fields as you want to include.

To change the information displayed with each asset, click Fields in the View, Find, and Sort toolbar.

List view

List view displays a scrollable list of files with a small thumbnail, flag status, and the same metadata fields displayed in Grid view.

Map view

Map view displays a world map. Any assets that have GPS or other geospatial metadata will be displayed on the map.

For details about Map view, see Using Map view.

Previewing assets

Preview mode displays a large, zoomable preview of individual assets selected from any of the view modes.

To preview assets in Grid or List view, select one or more, then double-click one of the selected assets.

To preview an asset in Map view, click on a pin on the map, then double-click the preview image.

Previews are automatically generated by Portfolio. The maximum preview image size or audio/video clip duration can be specified for each catalog by the Catalog Administrator in the Portfolio Administration application.

Some file types do not support thumbnail or preview images; for these types of files, the file icon is shown instead.

Fields

You can choose the properties that you want to display with each asset’s thumbnail in List or Grid view.

To open the Field Chooser, click Fields in the View, Find, and Sort toolbar.

For more information about using the Field Chooser, see The Field Chooser.

Refresh

To update the current view (especially after adding or removing items from an organizer), click in the View, Find, and Sort toolbar.

The button will pulsate when the main window needs to be refreshed.
