Galleries
A gallery can display any subset of the assets in your catalog.
A gallery is a good way to organize and view only certain assets in your catalog. For example, a photographer may create a catalog of his entire body of work, but have one gallery that has only portrait photos, and another gallery that has landscape photos.
Public, private, and read-only settings
By default, galleries are private: only the user that creates a gallery can access or change it.
You can share a private gallery with individual users.
You can also make a gallery public so that it’s available to all users of a catalog. If you choose to make your gallery public, you can restrict changes to that gallery by making it read-only to other users.
If a public gallery isn’t read-only, Portfolio can email any catalog member any time someone changes the gallery contents.
To find out how to change access to a gallery or request notification for a public gallery, see Making a gallery public or private.
Smart galleries
You create a smart gallery using Advanced Search tools to identify assets based on the metadata present in your catalog. When you open a smart gallery, Portfolio retrieves and displays assets according to the saved search criteria. The assets displayed in a smart gallery will likely change over time as you add assets and refine metadata.
For more information about smart galleries, see Creating a smart gallery.
Filtering and favorites
To narrow down the list of galleries, start typing in the Filter Galleries field.
To mark a gallery that you access often as a favortie gallery, click the star icon at the right end of the gallery’s name. Portfolio lists favorite galleries alphabetically before all other galleries.
